Our groups keep older clients socially connected

Each branch of Better Connected has access to community halls and run a variety of activities and wellness programs. This includes different types of exercise groups, guest speaker events and special interest hobbies, such as Active Minds, Zumba, Men’s Group and Tai Chi just to name a few. Our social support services also provide our aged clients with the opportunity to participate in bus outings, such as lunches, concerts and sightseeing, where our community bus collects clients from their home and safely transports back afterwards.

The interactions fostered by this service have a profoundly positive effect on the isolation many clients experienced before they joined the groups, promoting their independence in a safe, supported environment.

We send our clients their own individual social calendar and contact them regularly so they know that we are here to support them with any of our other services.
